Steve Gongora's

1962 Rampside Restoration

This particular Rampside was originally from Mark Domzalski.  The title transferred to Steve Gongora on July 31, 2003.    The truck came from Oregon and had body rust on the rear bottom quarters and the middle bottom panels.  One of the first comforts to change was the interior.  A tangerine Corvair convertible belonging to a former member had 15" S10 rims on the vehicle and I thought it would be great for the Rampside.  Chet's Wheel Alignment made the appropriate modifications to the wheels by drilling out the studs and installing the correct studs for the rims.  The truck has been wonderful with occasional engine updates due to broken valve guides and such.  Dave Langlois has made the sure the car is in working order.  Now it is time to make the outside paint in order.  I've chosen the staff of MAACO Paint and Body on McCleod and San Mateo for the work.  BIll, Mike, and Billy Jackson have started the work on the body.  Here are a few photos of the progress.
